Quick Healthy Cranberry Sauce

Quick Healthy Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is a traditional thanksgiving staple, but the stuff in the can is overly processed and full of sugar. Fresh cranberries are full of antioxidants, lower the risk of urinary tract infection, and help prevent certain types of cancers.

Ingredients

One bag of fresh cranberries

One half cup organic honey

One half cup water

Zest of one medium orange

Instructions

Rinse the cranberries and remove any overly squishy ones. Combine the cranberries, water, and honey in a saucepan and bring to a boil before reducing the heat to a simmer. The cranberries will eventually “pop”. Continue to simmer until the thickness is to your liking.

Remove from the heat and stir in the lemon zest. Taste for tartness, and if it is too tart add a bit more honey.

The sauce will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
