Nothing says “Happy Holidays” quite like a mug of creamy hot cocoa. While boxed mix is convenient, it can be loaded with preservatives and additives. This mix is easy, delicious, and can be made in large quantities to give away as gifts in decorated mason jars!
Use this base mix, then take a look at our notes for fun things to add before enjoying or gifting.
Base Cocoa Mix
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweet dark cocoa powder
1 cup vanilla non-dairy coffee creamer powder
1 tsp fine sea salt
2 tbsp cornstarch
Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together.
If storing in mason jars:
For one serving, use 2-3 tbsp with six ounces of hot water or milk. Measure however many servings per jar and label with directions
Notes:
Add crushed candy canes to the mix.
Add mini chocolate chips to the mix.
Include a packet of mini marshmallows with each jar.
Include uncrushed mini candy canes with each jar.
