Astrological Insights for November 2022
Overview
The manifestation of the energy of the Saturn-Uranus square continues to be reflected in November as the friction between the democratic and totalitarian regimes of the world continues. The friction between the Unites States and Russia, United States and China are likely to become severe. The protest in Iran against the authoritarian regime is likely to continue. The clashes between the democrats and the republicans in the United States are likely to intensify as the mid-term election results will start pouring in during the first half of November.
Interestingly, on November 8, approximately during the hours of 9:00 to 13:00 GMT (before the sunrise in the United States) a total lunar eclipse occurs involving the sidereal zodiac sign Aries ruled by Mars. I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes responsible for the unprecedented drama that’s likely to unfold in next several days following the eclipse. More on eclipse below.
From the planetary energy standpoint, one of the major events of 2022 is that of retrograde Mars. Mars becomes retrograde on October 31, 2022 in sidereal Gemini. It returns to Taurus on November 14, 2022 due to its retrograde motion, and it becomes direct on January 13 in Taurus and returns to Gemini on March 13, 2023. In addition, during the second half of November Neptune squares within three degrees. This square is going to be very intense in the world of covert operation and espionage. A Total Lunar Eclipse (November 8)
A total lunar eclipse occurs on November 8, approximately during the hours of 9:00 to 13:00 GMT. This eclipse will be visible in Asia, Australia, the North America and some part of South America and pacific island regions including Hawaii.
This eclipse is important since the Sun and Moon will be within 3 degrees from the Southern (Ketu) and the northern (Rahu) lunar nodes respectively and therefore will last for a long time (4 hours). The eclipse will occur with the Southern or descending node Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign Libra and the ascending node Rahu in Aries. Consequently, this eclipse, according to Vedic astrology, is likely to be unfavorable for those who have sidereal Aries or Libra rising or Aries or Libra as moon sign.
For those who have the lunar nodes in conjunction with either Sun or Moon in their natal charts, should be careful. It’s probably not a good day. Take extra precaution and avoid any sort of new activity or new venture during the eclipse.
On world scene, Eastern Asia, Australia, the United States, Canada, South America and Pacific island region including Hawaii, might experience some challenging events.
Retrograde Mars
(October 31- January 13, 2023)

Astrologically speaking, what does “the retrograde Mars” mean? And what can we expect from the retrograde Mars? In general, when a planet turns retrograde, the positive energy offered by that planet is expected to slowly diminish. Any planet can be positive or negative based on its placement in the natal chart. The positive side of Mars—amazing energy, independence, and high ego. While high ego proves to be ultimately negative, it does help in utilizing amazing energy with total independence that makes the person feel he/or she is master of the universe. Gemini being the air sign and ruled by Mercury, Gemini Mars energy represents more directly related to brain power than physical power. Therefore, the manifestation of this energy will be reflected in both the material (Mars being the material planet) and knowledge (as Gemini is ruled by Mercury) with tremendous ups and downs that will be intensely felt by the entire world, especially by people in power at research and academic institutes, diplomats, space technology, products related to communications such as cell phones, internets, social media, and information technology.
The transit of Mars in Taurus (the earth sign) means significant volatility in financial markets and drastic changes and shifts in international politics.
For those of you who have poorly placed predominant Mars in their birth chart and if its energy is active you through the current Gochar (transit) chart, then, you are very likely to experience a sudden setback in your professional as well as in other activities. The Taurus retrograde Mars is going to be unfavorable for those who have Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Aries as a rising sign or ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant. It’s going to be very challenging and frustrating period if you have an active Mars in your current Gochar (transit) chart. In particular, this will apply to business people, politicians, corporations, and financial organizations.
On a collective level, expect a political tension building among developed nations. Financial crisis in UK may become very severe during Nov 14 – Jan 13. Cyber wars and internet communication breakdowns will likely to be very frequent. Saturn’s return to sidereal Capricorn
(July 14 – January 17, 2023)
On July 14, Saturn with its retrograde motion returned to sidereal Capricorn and it will stay in Capricorn until January 17, 2023.
Capricorn being the earth and cardinal sign, Saturn’s energy has strongly been reflected in the volatility and changes in the world financial markets, especially the energy (oil) markets, economy, and material expansion/contraction. Entrepreneurs, business leaders, politicians, philanthropists, philosophers, scientists, reformers and to some extent monks will shape the future of the world. Those who have Saturn in Capricorn (Saturn return) in their natal charts will be experiencing Saturn’s energy as their lives get transformed to new settings due to a drastic change (mostly) at material and psychological levels. In my opinion, despite a painful period of frustration due to unexpected drastic changes in life, it’s going to be an exciting period for those who have dominant Saturn in their birth chart and have Pisces, Aries, Leo, and Scorpio as their natal ninefold (Navamansha) ascendant.

Is Russian-Ukraine war and senseless killings… going away?
The war between Russia and Ukraine will continue in November with unprecedented casualties on both sides. Ukraine will continue to have an upper hand in this war. It’s very likely that US involvement in the conflict may become more prominent due to the Uranus-Saturn square (Sept 15 – Oct 23). Until Saturn completely returns to Aquarius (January 2023), the Ukraine war is likely to continue its course of devastation and destabilization of the country.
Neptune’s temporary return to the Sidereal Aquarius

With Neptune’s return to the sidereal Aquarius on September 17 we have been witnessing a temporary but a sudden shift in our collective consciousness and it’s well reflected in a turnaround in Putin’s behavior. With decline in support for war both internationally and domestically, he has shifted his position in maneuvering the war. This shift is likely to prove to be a confusing one. Being cornered, humiliated, and isolated, Putin may become irrational and resort to tactics that result in further escalation of the Ukraine war with far more senseless killings.
