Astrological Insights for March 2025

Overview

The month of March begins with Venus turning retrograde on March 2. In general, a retrograde Venus signifies a challenging phase for women, relationships, marriages, home life, lovers, and the entertainment industry. Expect an increase in divorce rates, intensified conflicts between spouses, and heightened delays, frustrations, and misunderstandings in domestic matters.

A total lunar eclipse will occur on March 13/14, approximately between 4:00 and 10:00 GMT, with totality taking place from around 6:00 to 8:00 GMT. According to Vedic astrology, this eclipse may be particularly challenging for individuals with sidereal Virgo or Pisces as their rising or Moon sign. On the global stage, regions including the western part of Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, Mexico, and the Pacific island regions—particularly Hawaii—could experience significant or disruptive events during this period.

On March 15, Mercury turns retrograde in sidereal Pisces and will remain in retrograde motion until April 7. Typically, a retrograde Mercury brings increased anxiety, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missed deadlines, unforeseen obstacles, and disruptions in daily routines. With Mercury retrograding in Pisces, these challenges may be particularly pronounced for healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and hospitals, as well as for social reformers, nonprofit organizations, asylums, prisons, and caregivers.

If Mercury is dominant in your birth chart and is currently an active planet in your transit chart, you are likely to experience stronger effects of this retrograde, particularly in matters related to the house Mercury is transiting in your Gochar (transit) chart. However, individuals with Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Taurus, or Gemini as their ninefold ascendant are least likely to be significantly affected during this period.

At a collective level, covert activities worldwide may escalate under the influence of the Neptune-Rahu conjunction. Neptune’s secretive nature may obscure the full extent of these activities, particularly concerning terrorism and international conflicts. Regarding the Ukraine-Russia war, Neptune’s transit in sidereal Pisces does not favor authoritarian regimes. However, Rahu’s concurrent transit in Pisces counters Neptune’s energy, temporarily stalling the decline of authoritarian influence. This planetary combination may intensify the Ukraine-Russia conflict. By the end of May 2025, as Rahu exits sidereal Pisces, its counteracting influence on Neptune will diminish. Consequently, Russian President Putin’s grip on the Ukraine-Russia war may begin to weaken.

Uranus’s brief transit in Aries from December 19, 2024, to March 16, 2025, is poised to bring substantial changes. Uranus, the planet of transformation, resonates strongly with Aries, a fiery and cardinal sign characterized by independence, ambition, energy, and impulsiveness. This short transit is expected to dramatically influence the global political landscape. In the U.S., Uranus’s retrograde return to Aries has historically been associated with political chaos and instability. This could potentially add another layer of unpredictability to an already turbulent period, especially considering recent actions by the Trump administration.

On March 29, Saturn enters sidereal Pisces, joining Neptune, and will remain there until approximately June 2, 2027. Saturn, often regarded as the karmic planet that teaches life’s difficult lessons, also guides us toward understanding our purpose and the path to self-realization. Its presence in Pisces—a sign that complements Saturn’s structured wisdom with Neptune’s spiritual depth—marks a rare and profound meeting of two spiritual planets in the most spiritually inclined zodiac sign.

Over the next two and a half years, Saturn’s influence in Pisces is likely to bring significant transformations, particularly in the healthcare industry, including health insurance. This period may introduce new norms that redefine how these sectors operate.

Retrograde Venus (March 2 – April 13)

On March 2, Venus turns retrograde in the sidereal zodiac sign of Pisces. Venus goes into retrograde approximately once every 19 months, with each retrograde period lasting about six weeks.

In general, a retrograde Venus signifies a challenging phase for women, relationships, marriages, home life, lovers, and the entertainment industry. Expect an increase in divorce rates, intensified conflicts between spouses, and heightened delays, frustrations, and misunderstandings in domestic matters.

If Venus holds a dominant position in your birth chart and is currently active in your transit chart, you are more likely to experience the full effects of this retrograde period until April 13.

Individuals in the entertainment industry—including actors, actresses, musicians, comedians, movie directors, and producers—may find themselves facing setbacks, disappointments, or professional difficulties, especially if Venus is strongly influencing their transit charts during this time.

A Total Lunar Eclipse (March 13/14)

A total lunar eclipse will occur on March 13/14, approximately between 4:00 and 10:00 GMT of March 14, with totality taking place from around 6:00 to 8:00 GMT of March 14. This eclipse will be partially visible in Europe and fully visible in North and Central America, the western part of South America, and the Pacific island regions, including Hawaii.

This eclipse holds significance because the Sun and Moon will be within one degree of the lunar nodes—Rahu and Ketu—making it last for an extended period (approximately 4 to 6 hours). The eclipse will occur with the descending node, Ketu, in the sidereal zodiac sign of Virgo, while the ascending node, Rahu, will be in Pisces.

According to Vedic astrology, this eclipse is likely to be challenging for individuals with sidereal Virgo or Pisces as their rising sign or Moon sign. Additionally, those who have the lunar nodes (Rahu or Ketu) conjunct the Sun or Moon in their natal charts should exercise caution, as this may not be a favorable day. It is advisable to take extra precautions and avoid initiating new activities or ventures during the eclipse.

On the global stage, regions including the western part of Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, Mexico, and the Pacific island regions—particularly Hawaii—could experience significant or undesirable events during this period.

Retrograde Mercury (March 15 – April 7)

On March 15, Mercury turns retrograde in sidereal Pisces and will remain in retrograde motion until it becomes direct on April 7.

Typically, retrograde Mercury brings increased anxiety, communication breakdowns, unexpected delays, frustrations, missed deadlines, unforeseen obstacles, and disruptions in daily routines. With Mercury retrograding in Pisces, these challenges may be particularly pronounced for healthcare providers, including doctors, nurses, and hospitals, as well as social reformers, nonprofit organizations, asylums, prisons, and caregivers.

This is not an ideal time to start new projects or ventures; instead, it is a period best suited for reflection and reassessment of past efforts. It’s also an excellent opportunity to declutter—whether it’s cleaning out a closet or tackling long-postponed tasks.

Neptune-Rahu conjunction (Jan 17 – Mar 28)

Authoritarian regimes under fire

This period marks one of the most challenging astrological aspects, featuring a conjunction between spiritual and humanitarian Neptune in Pisces and the ruthless, explosive north lunar node, Rahu, in Pisces—a particularly unfavorable sign for Rahu. These opposing energies are often associated with turbulence, especially where humanitarian values clash with authoritarian forces, as reflected in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Neptune’s transit through sidereal Pisces generally undermines authoritarian regimes. However, Rahu’s presence in Pisces counters Neptune’s influence, temporarily bolstering authoritarian powers. This dynamic may create a period favorable to authoritarian rule, even as the close conjunction between Neptune and Rahu (January 17 – March 28) is likely to intensify tensions and conflicts, particularly in the Ukraine-Russia war.

Looking ahead, by May 20, 2025, Rahu will exit sidereal Pisces, removing its counteractive influence on Neptune. This shift is expected to weaken the grip of authoritarian leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, potentially diminishing his influence in the Ukraine-Russia war.

On an individual level, if Neptune and Rahu (or Neptune and Ketu) are poorly placed in your natal chart–especially in connection with the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house—and one of these planets is active in your current transit (Gochar) chart, you may experience instability and sudden changes in your surroundings. These changes could feel frustrating or unfortunate. During this time, it is advisable to avoid new commitments and adopt a low-profile approach.

Uranus re-ingress Sidereal Taurus after March 16, 2025

An era of Material World Transformation and Female Dominance

On December 16, 2024, retrograde Uranus returned to sidereal Aries. After transiting through Aries until March 15, 2025, Uranus will reenter Taurus, where it will remain for approximately seven years.

Uranus, the planet of sudden and uninvited change, is poised to bring significant disruptions to matters related to Taurus. As an earth and fixed sign, Taurus will channel the energy of Uranus’s independence, ambition, impulsiveness, and unpredictability into transformative shifts in the material world. Over the next six to seven years, areas such as banking, stock markets, financial institutions, the U.S. Federal Reserve, and central banks worldwide will undergo drastic changes. Financial markets are expected to experience extreme volatility, potentially dipping into a severe but short-term depression. However, the severity may not be fully felt until May 2025, as Jupiter’s materially favorable transit through Taurus offsets some of Uranus’s disruptive effects.

One notable aspect of Uranus’s transit in Taurus is the increasing prominence of female leadership. Taurus, being a feminine sign, aligns with this shift, heralding a rise in women taking on leadership roles in both the political and financial realms. Business leaders, the wealthy, real estate magnates, and influential figures in the entertainment industry are likely to feel the most significant impact of Uranus’s energy. This period will also see groundbreaking innovations and advancements in science and technology, driving rapid discoveries. A new wave of spiritually inclined leaders in politics and corporations is expected to emerge, blending compassion and human values into their leadership styles.

The challenging side of Uranus’s transit through Taurus involves the painful transformation of material norms. The familiar structures of the material world are likely to be redefined, aligning with humanity’s spiritual growth and evolution. These changes will echo themes previously outlined in predictions tied to Capricorn Pluto’s transformative energy and Piscean Neptune’s spiritual influence.

Other manifestations of Uranus’s transit in Taurus include economic wars, cyber conflicts, currency manipulation, economic persecution, agricultural disputes, and real estate crises. Economically disadvantaged individuals may face intolerable hardships. Natural disasters such as wildfires, extreme weather events, significant earthquakes, and unbearable seasonal conditions are also expected to increase in frequency and intensity.

For individuals with a well-placed Uranus in their natal charts and a Pisces, Sagittarius, Leo, or Cancer ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant, this transit may bring a particularly positive period. These individuals are likely to experience growth and success, especially during times when Uranus is prominently active in their transit charts.

Saturn Ingress Sidereal Pisces (March 28)

A meeting of two spiritual planets in the most spiritual sign

On March 29, Saturn enters sidereal Pisces, joining Neptune, and will remain there until approximately June 2, 2027.

Pisces, a water-based mutable sign ruled by Jupiter, embodies qualities such as spirituality, compassion, emotional depth, modesty, honesty, introversion, and a heart-centered connection. These traits closely align with Neptune’s attributes of intuition, divine inspiration, imagination, love, and mystical energy. Together, Saturn and Neptune form a powerful synergy, amplifying the spiritual and transformative potential of this transit.

The planet Saturn, often regarded as the karmic that teaches life’s difficult lessons, also guides us toward understanding our purpose and the path to self-realization.

In the realm of world religions, Saturn may initially appear to counter Neptune’s free-spirited energy by emphasizing dogmatic traditions. However, as Saturn’s wisdom merges with Neptune’s ideals of universal love, compassion, and detachment from materialism, a harmonious spiritual evolution is expected. Philosophers, philanthropists, social reformers, and spiritually driven scientists and entrepreneurs are likely to emerge as key influencers, shaping a more compassionate and mindful global landscape.

For individuals experiencing their Saturn return in Pisces, profound life changes—both material and psychological—are on the horizon. While these shifts may feel unexpected and challenging, they will ultimately be transformative, opening pathways for personal growth and self-discovery. Those with dominant Saturn placements in their natal charts, as well as individuals with Capricorn, Cancer, Leo, or Aquarius as their ninefold (Navamansa) ascendant, are likely to find this period particularly impactful, albeit demanding.

On the global political stage, Saturn in Pisces is expected to bring heightened focus on authoritarian regimes, particularly in nations like Russia and China. Their actions and influence will likely dominate headlines, signaling shifts in the balance of power and the evolution of governance systems worldwide.
