“Money, pardon the expression, is like manure. It’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around, encouraging growth.”
– Dolly Levi Hello Dolly! (1969)
We live in a 3-dimensional world as 3-dimensional beings. Money is still the primary energetic expression of how we interact with people and surroundings. In other words: the way we spend our money, is how we express ourselves and desires to the universe.
Financial Flow vs Stagnation
When put in such simple terms, you may think: “Ok, so to get rich I just have to be a good person and use a vision board. Cool, I got it!”
Unfortunately, this 3D-world makes that easier to explain than to achieve. Using our finances to satisfy addictions, feed emotional false-belief systems, or being ultra-cheap-skates are all results of one thing: FEAR – the opposing force to love and abundance.
The best way for me to explain what happens when we fear for our finances is a real-life example:
“I opened my studio about 2 years ago and thought I’ve done everything right. My husband was supportive. I did all the research I needed, and I even had a few clients to get me started. I left my previous job with some venom and was determined to PROVE to them that I was worth investing in, and they had missed out.
But…nothing was happening. I was using every business and marketing strategy I’d been taught. It worked fine at my old jobs, why wasn’t it working now? I started hoarding every penny I earned to pay my bills instead of giving 10% to charity, like I’d been raised to do.
After a year with seemingly NO progress, I went into a deep meditation with a healer to search for answers. I saw myself climbing a huge staircase leading to infinity, but in front of me was a massive stone block I was trying to PUSH up the stairs. The block represented the techniques of old jobs that didn’t align with my authentic self, and I would NEVER be able to climb the staircase using them.
My vision then shifted to me working countless hours at my desk, but there was a dingy, spiky bubble around me, keeping anything from going in or out. All the energy I was TRYING to put toward the growth of my business wasn’t going anywhere, just circulating the bubble – there was no flow…
I finally understood that I was so scared of failure, and so determined to make my old boss feel bad, that all flow of abundance had stopped, and I was stuck in stagnation.”

Now on to the 3 vital keys!
1. Change your intention to spread positivity.
According to Buddhism, money is the gateway to 2 energetic responses:
– Greed: A branch of fear that stalls and stagnates us
– Generosity: A branch of love that draws flowing abundance
All financial manifestations stem from a foundation of one of these two areas. Remember, where it is planted, is where it will grow.
It may seem counterintuitive to focus on service in order to manifest money for yourself, but that’s not what this is about. It’s about spreading positivity to OPEN the flow of abundance in your life.
Maybe you do that by going above and beyond at work or paying for someone’s lunch with no expectations. Maybe you simply answer the calls of small service when they present themselves.
Chasing money will not get you money. The only way is to open yourself up to the flow of abundance by spreading generosity. Let THAT be your intention next time you build a vision board: “How can I spread positivity and generosity so I can attract this into my life?”
2. Be your most authentic self.
What is your highest truth, and who is your truest self?
Our truest selves are the beings flowing with Dharma,* not resisting abundance! It’s the person you probably dreamed about being when you were a child. Life, however, asks us to contort and compromise in every aspect, until it seems that being no longer exists.
How can your energy shine out to the universe and your wildest dreams be reflected back to you if you’re hiding behind the ideals and functions of others? Drastic measures can’t always be taken, but what IS in your control? Here are some questions to ask yourself that will help you get re-aligned with who you truly are (remember, baby steps):
– When you do you feel the most you?
– Are there any areas in your life you feel your truth is being discouraged?
– Can you devote 15 minutes a day to being your truest self? (hobbies, passion project, self-care, socialization, etc.)
– Are there negative feelings associated with your highest truth?
* Dharma: the path of destiny to fulfil your life’s work and purpose
– What is the tiniest step you can take TODAY toward flowing with Dharma?
Authenticity drives alignment, which drives passion, which drives creativity, which drives motivation, which drives success.
3. Don’t let your manifestation be fueled by fear.
“Having money isn’t everything, but not having it is.” – Kanye West
Have you ever gotten freaked out by the possibility of a financial hardship and thought “I have to manifest money right now!” I’ve done it, but it obviously didn’t work. Fear and love cannot exist in the same space, meaning greed and abundance cannot exist in the same space.
Several religious texts have examples of this. People offering service for selfish reasons, begrudgingly donating to a cause, expecting payback, etc. All the stories end with the same warning: that there is no benefit in this form of falsified generosity.
The ACTUAL key here is to be calm, open, and trusting of the Divine flow of destiny. Here is a mantra you can say with one hand on your heart and one hand on your head:
“I am humbly surrender control and accept of the guidance from Divine source. I trust the flow of destiny will lead me through this trial and deliver me my wildest dreams.”
